Join us for
a lovely Half day tour exploring the beautiful Mary
River valley in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.
We drive
West to the quaint country town of Imbil, when we hear
the whistle blow, it’s “All Aboard” the
“Valley Rattler” steam train. The track winds
though crops, pastures and forests to Dagun Station
where we stop for wine & cheese tasting, then
re-board “the Rattler” for the run into magnificent
Old Gympie Station. (Note:
Saturday Rattler runs between Gympie & Dagun via
Amamoor)
They call Gympie
”The City that saved Queensland”; Gold
was discovered here in 1867, the gold rush lasted over
50 years with over 4 Million Ounces of Gold recovered.
On our way home we take a drive tour of some the grand
stone & timber buildings in Gympie's city centre
before returning to the Sunshine Coast.
